From an early age, Tara has loved reading and dreamt of writing books that inspire a love of reading within others. She is a reviewer with The Big Book Club Reading Committee and her locally based geocaching books are popular with schools,


Katrina is the author of numerous best-selling picture books. Thunderstorm Dancing is just one of several of Katrina’s books to have received Notable Book Commendations from the CBCA.


Susanne Gervay is recognized for her youth literature for all ages on social justice. She engages young people in complex issues from multiculturalism to peace in her picture books, middle grade and young adult books.  


Jane Godwin is the highly acclaimed author of over twenty-five books for children, across all styles and ages. Her work is published internationally and she has received many commendations.


Erin Gough is a fiction writer whose award-winning stories have been published in a number of journals and anthologies.

Her talks and workshops with high school students focus on the craft of storytelling, the importance of reading diversely and learning how to tell your individual story.


Sally is an award winning playwright and theatre maker for children and young adult audiences, and is the South Australian Chair of the Australian Writers Guild.


Rosanne Hawke is an award winning children’s & YA author and is the author of thirty books for young people ranging from lower primary to high school. She was a teacher & aid worker in Pakistan & UAE and now lectures casually in creative writing at Tabor Adelaide.



Kelly has written the fabulously colourful picture book, Fancy Pants, published by the Little Big Book Club in November 2016. Her second book is due for release in 2018 with HarperCollins.


Tania Ingram is an author of children’s picture books and novels including the Jinny and Cooper series. She is on the Society of Book Writers and Illustrators SA committee. Tania is also a Books in Homes role model and Ambassador for United Way SA.



Alys Jackson is an award-winning author of fiction for children and adults. Her literary fiction for children is a regular feature in magazines, including The School Magazine, (Australia), Aquila (UK) and The Caterpillar (Ireland). 


Jane is the author of many award winning picture book, including Tea and Sugar Christmas, illustrated by Robert Ingpen and One Step at a Time, illustrated by Sally Heinrich. She presents “Meet the Author” talks to R-12 students and brings many props with her, which always leads to the students enjoying a very interactive session.


MIke has written several anthologies of poetry for children. His first picture book, Olivia’s Voice, was a CBCA Notable. His latest picture book is Bad Herbert, published by Larrikin House. He owns and runs a bookshop in Blackwood, South Australia. Each year he writes a poem with the CBCA Book Week theme as a title.
